How to use the IP Info tool
Every device on the internet has an IP address, and that address carries useful information: country, region, city, ISP, autonomous system number (ASN), and timezone. This tool looks up those details for any IP address (or your own) — everything you need when investigating traffic, planning firewall rules, or troubleshooting connections.
- 1 Enter an IP address, or leave the field empty to look up your own connection.
- 2 Click Lookup to see location, ISP, ASN, and timezone data.
- 3 To check mail servers instead, use the separate MX Check tool.
Example: Lookup 8.8.8.8
8.8.8.8

IP Info FAQ
What is an ASN?
An Autonomous System Number identifies an organization that owns a block of IP addresses on the internet. Knowing the ASN of traffic tells you which network provider it comes from.
What are MX records and why do they matter?
MX (Mail Exchange) records list the servers that accept email for a domain, in priority order. If they are missing or misconfigured, inbound email fails or is silently dropped. Use the dedicated MX Check tool to verify them.
Is the IP lookup data accurate?
IP geolocation is approximate — usually accurate to city or region level, not street level. ISP and ASN data are authoritative and come from the registries.
